“The Elevar Foundation truly believes that music has the power to change the trajectory of someone’s life. Today, more than ever, music is seen as a great connector – it is so much more than just an emotive outlet. We, at the Elevar Foundation, are committed to working in partnership with underserved communities, by actively listening and providing the support they’ve identified, to ensure that their constituents have access to every opportunity possible.” -- Elmar Oliveira, Founder & Artistic Director, Elevar Foundation

About Us

Where Music Comes to Thrive

The Elevar Foundation, home to the EOIVC and the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival, believes in the transformative power of music and music education. The goal of the foundation is to make music accessible to underserved communities through partnerships, by offering or supporting free or low-cost opportunities such as masterclasses, lessons, performances, instruments, workshops and information sessions.

Founder and Artistic Director Elmar Olivera, who is of Portuguese descent, chose the name “elevar” for his foundation, which means “to raise" or "lift up” in Portuguese. He and his team believe that music can “lift” individuals up and provide life-changing experiences that can positively impact society as a whole.
